Olympus Technical Services, Inc., a Montana-based, employee-owned environmental consulting and environmental field services firm specializing in hazardous waste site/environmental remediation, mine reclamation, demolition, environmental engineering, and emergency spill response is seeking an experienced construction manager to join our growing Helena, Montana office. The construction manager is expected to take projects from cradle to the grave. Expect to be involved in bidding projects, obtaining permits, managing projects in the field and in the office, and preparing invoices. The construction manager will work within Olympus’ construction division and team with senior managers. The right individual will also be willing to work on emergency response projects and support other work divisions within Olympus.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Experience managing demolition and civil construction projects;
- Outstanding communication, organizational, and supervisory skills;
- Experience estimating/bidding construction projects;
- Track record of completing projects on time and within budget;
- Ability to achieve maximum efficiency on construction projects;
- Ability to travel to projects for extended periods of time;
- Knowledge of project plans and drawings;
- Ability to solve problems creatively;
- Establish and maintain customer relationships;
- Familiarity with construction contracts;
- Experience preparing and submitting project proposals;
- Coordination of subcontractors, vendors,
- Experience with construction surveying and staking;
- Experience invoicing and reconciling quantities;
- Establish working relationships with
- Five years of experience managing construction projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in construction management, civil engineering, or equivalent technical training/experience;
- Substantial demolition and dirt-moving experience;
- Interest and ability to interact with clients and project teams;
- Strong safety record and QA/QC skills;
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office, GPS, construction estimating and scheduling software;
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills; and
- Willingness to travel as project requires.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in related field;
- PE/PMP or other professional license or registration;
- Related industry licensure/training including:
- 40-hour HAZWOPER
- OSHA Training
Compensation and Schedule:
- Anticipated salary range: $60,000-$90,000 depending on experience
- Workdays are generally M-F 40(+) hours/week.
